## What BirrBell does
BirrBell announces incoming payments aloud for shops. The app on the shop's phone reads the notifications of incoming SMS to recognize payment messages from telebirr, banks and other payment providers.

## What we collect
- **Payment details from recognized payment messages only**: amount, payer name as shown in the message, transaction number, provider, time.
- **Device information**: a device ID created by the app, app version, whether the phone is online.
- **Shop information** entered by the owner: shop name, owner contact.

## What we do not collect
- Personal or non-payment messages. They are ignored on the phone and never stored or sent.
- Outgoing payments, balances, PINs or passwords.
- Contacts, location, photos or microphone.

## How we use it
To announce payments, show totals and history to the shop owner and their staff phones, and detect fake or duplicate messages. We do not sell data or use it for advertising.

## Sharing
Only with the shop the payment belongs to, and service providers that host our servers under confidentiality. We disclose data when required by Ethiopian law.

## Storage and security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored on servers at [LOCATION]. Payment records are kept for [24 months] and then deleted, unless the shop closes its account earlier.

## Your choices
Shop owners can remove a phone or close the account at any time by contacting [EMAIL]. Turning off notification access in phone settings stops BirrBell reading messages immediately.
